Quality and Qualifications Ireland has developed an information leaflet describing the qualifications recognition system in Ireland. FÁS (formerly the National Training and Employment Authority)
FÁS Employment Services and Employment Programmes are now part of the Department of Social Protection. FÁS will continue to provide training opportunities during 2012.
FÁS has produced information in a number of different languages for non-Irish employees wishing to come to live and work in Ireland, which is available on their website at this page.
FÁS have also provided some useful links on their website, with information on support groups, trade and professional bodies, salaries and recruitment agencies. This information is available in Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian, French, German, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian and Spanish.
Irish National Organisation for the Unemployed (INOU)
The Irish National Organisation for the Unemployed (INOU) have produced a publication detailing social welfare, education and training options for the unemployed called “Working for Work.” - 19th ed. There is an excerpt from this publication in Polish and various booklets on looking for work in Brazilian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, and Russian on the publications page of the INOU website.
