EURES Services for Migrants
EURES is the European Employment Services Network established by the European Commission to assist the free movement of workers between the EU/ EEA countries.
EURES has the responsibility of both attracting workers from abroad to satisfy the labour market demand which still exists and of promoting available worthwhile work opportunities in the EU/EEA to Irish or Non-Irish workers. It is responsible for preparing mobile workers interested in coming to Ireland or workers from Ireland who wish to take up opportunities in other Member States of the EU/EEA. It does this by ensuring workers have up to date information on living and working conditions of Ireland and all Member States of the EU/EEA.
The ‘Know Before You Go’ campaign is aimed at preparing European job seekers, interested in working in Ireland, before they leave home.
It consists of a suite of DVDs, information brochures and posters which give practical information and advice about living and working in Ireland. ‘Know Before You Go’ information is currently available in 16 languages on this webpage.
EURES offers a network of advisers to provide the information required by jobseekers and employers through personal contacts. There are more than 850 EURES advisers across Europe and the number is growing. You can find contact details for advisers on this page.
EURES advisers are trained specialists who provide the three basic EURES services of information, guidance and placement, to both jobseekers and employers interested in the European job market. They have developed specialised expertise in the practical, legal and administrative matters relating to mobility at national and cross-border levels. They work within the Public Employment Service of each member country, or within other partner organisations in the EURES network.
