The three main kinds of housing in Ireland are privately rented accommodation, local authority or social housing, and owner-occupied housing. Accommodation in Ireland can be expensive so it is important to investigate the different costs fully and weigh up the different options.

Regardless of which kind of housing you live in, you will also usually pay bills such as gas- An Bord Gáis , electricity – ESB, Airtricity and An Bord Gáis , a TV licence and, in some cases, bin (refuse) charges.
